Womens G 6 - 0 HKU C

10 December 2011
HKFC G v HKU C  10 December 6.30pm Happy Valley

On a cold, dark night we trudged over to the Valley, some of us having reluctantly left the Football Club Family Fete with a (warming) glass or two of mulled wine inside us…to face a pesky HKU team of fit, young chinese girls…..hmmm, to say most of us we were not quite in the mood and didn’t want to be there was a mild understatement – in fact HKU’s umpire wasn’t there, but Charlie’s wife kindly offered to umpire so we could play. So, ever the consummate professionals (?!), we decided to man up and having beaten them resoundingly 3-0 last time, we take to the field keen to keep our winning streak going. So, tactics were simple, Ash/Cristina goal hang and get on the end of anything in the D and try keep a clean sheet the other end. Well, it worked pretty well really. Ash, recovering from a migraine no less, slots a great pass straight into goal just 10 mins in. Cristina comes on and decides whatever Ash can do……10 mins later, deadly finish and sure enough, Cristina’s ball finds the back board. 2-0. For the second half we were properly awake and were insisting Ash get a hatrick…However, it was Aliza dropping into the D and saying a big hello to the HKU goal – Bang, and it was 3-0.  So, now it gets a bit boring really if you’re not Ash and all I need to say is GO ASH!  Goal 4 – Ash, Goal 5 – Ash (with a wicked penalty stroke once everyone worked out what was going on) and believe it or not, no you are not reading the A’s team match report , Goal 6 – Ash. 6-0. j.o.b. d.o.n.e. Funny moment, ref turning to me with about 10mins to go and saying “Do you mind if we call time, the other team have given up and I really want to go home”  Sure
