Dear F Team
Well, a wake-up call to the 2010 part of the season and though a fair victory ( to HKCC ) it was a rather unfair scoreline.
We had a good 14, with Tim still in bed with Flu ( nice girl ) and Dermot in bed probably with something nice in Nice ! Snowed under no doubt !
We, to the game. It all started well enough and certainly HKCC had a very strong squad and it was end to end and pretty even.
Jeroen was certainly kept busy and did a good job in keeping at repeated attacks on our goal. The backs on David G, David W, Walter and Steve and JP swapping around did remarkably well and held out for some time.
Midfield we had the likes of Chris, Thorsten, Steve again, Anthony, Phil, Bertie and Abhinav too. All kept the game with Club and had some good runs and chances.
By the end of the first half we had conceded a goal but were holding our own and playing very well in fact. It seemed to be a game where the last pass or final shot was always just out of reach and the luck not with us.
Second half took a turn for the worse fairly early on and in a spell of 10-15 minutes we were suddenly down by 4 more goals for a 5 - 0 score line. We'd lost our shape a bit add HKCC had pretty much reparative attacks of down the right and across the D with fairly straightforward shots and goals. Up front we continued to threaten and Chris on the wing as well as Tom and Bertie in spells gave us some good chances. Finally near the end and a pass into the D saw myself free but then heavily impeded and WMD taken away by a HKCC defender so a flick was awarded. Luckily it went in despite a valiant attempt by their GK so we got to 5 - 1. Moments later a chance again saw a good save from the WMD...but it finished at 5 - 1. I believe the teams were far more equally match than the scores suggests but HKCC had their chances and took then. In fact given Jeroens saves in the first half it could well have been double.
So, on we go to the next game, defect out of the way and onto winning ways again hopefully. That'd the F's vs E Team. HKFC on Thursday 21st Jan. 20.30 at Club.
