Match Report: Tuesday the 26th of January HKFC C’s vs Elite B (1-1) Playing away from home is never easy but Club found their rhythm very early on in the game, stringing some very free flowing passing moves together creating a number of early chances. With the short sharp passing round the midfield Tom, Sim and Ben managed to create space for wings and get the ball up the pitch to Matt who worked hard all night a long side Renee up front. Despite creating a number of chances in the first half neither team managed to get on the score sheet thanks to some sturdy defensive work at the back from Charlie, Nick and Ben! Dave Koker had a superb game running things from the back providing some crucial last ditch tackles helping fend off the pressing Elite B’s. Our defence was solid however the only danger that Elite B possessed was the quick break and eventually these breaks took their toll as Elite B scored from one of their many short corners in the second half. However club rallied together and responded within 2 minutes with a goal of our own from one of our short corners. A great strike by Rene hitting the logged keepers pad and Mr. Truman with some quick thinking found the rebound and lifted the ball over the keeper and into the net. With the game heating up with the final minutes chance were coming thick and fast however neither team managed to convert and the score ended up as 1-1. A good result in some ways to come from behind and grab a point however as we pressed in the last 10 minutes perhaps we could have taken all 3 points. Now all Club need to work on is turning possession into points! Harris Award: Oli Spensley's disappearing act at the beginning of the game.
