Ladies F 0-0 LHT

06 February 2010

GOALESS WONDERS!

The foxes as usual all set up for a clean sheet.0-0 was not the result
we had hoped for,  although still undefeated we all felt rather flat
at the end of the game. Well i did? Game didn't start well with one of the umpires

failing to show up - sacrificing our coach to the whistle was not in our plans!
The whistle blew we passed the ball like text book style (  well
almost) we looked confident and pretty good. Play flowed very quickly and remained in our half
Yet no goals in the first half. What was happening?
We were awarded a corner and totally believed this is it! Perfect
opportunity  to get ahead , but it didn't happen.
A couple of corners were given, Alex did a fantastic job pushing out as our resident 'injector' Viv was held up in work.
Helen smacked the shot, then from a deflection the ball was driven at
goal only to be sat on by a lady in pink?
We were not awarded a penalty? Our decisive umpire couldn't make his mind up - first he awarded a penalty,

then he changed his mind! Completely bizarre umpiring. Ah well, us foxes are not a team who argue with the
refs decisions are we??????????????? Us??? NEVER!
Another short corner,  no goal! BOO!!!!

Polly ably standing in as Keeper watched a few wiz by although they were smacked

from the 25 and had no chance of anyone's stick getting to them.
Well left!!
We passed the ball switched up the play Ellen and Rhona so powerful at
the back. Christine the rock !!your newstage name. Mel mac moving up
and down the field like the little terrier she is!
The pink ladies always there to intercept are passes( in there groups
of three).
Second half a little better and we were determined to be more aggressive - none of this nicey nicey girlie pretty hockey! Pah!

Sam did some fantastic runs down the left and Alex blocked and tackled and ran her legs off ( must have been
after that 1/2 time team talk)!! Ha ha. Good job to Helen for staying upright in this game - must be a first!
Ali had a couple of shots on goal just wide,If Only The Cry Went Out!!

Congratulations to Mairi and Sarah you both played fantastic. Chappie
would be proud of the silky moves Mrs Mcinnes. !! Our captain is just as proud of your new mouth guard!!

Although you do still look scary!
Player of the match goes to Rhona who held the line of defence and
organized us perfectly on their attack.
Think that some feisty shooting practise this Thursday Foxes is a must now that we've
mastered the passing skills.
Well played though everyone !!
