GAME RESULT ~ Sunday 21st FEB 18.30 ~ HKFC "F" vs ELITE "C"

A final count of 13 saw the F Team up against League leaders Elite C for a late game and after a fairly patchy start we got going and played very well overall.

Elite were certainly well versed in moving the ball around and gave the defence of Jeroen, Steve, David G, David W and Walter a torrid time, but they held out well with determination and eventually the old bones of the F Team warmed up and we got into our stide with good midfield play via Chris, Ali-G, Anthony, Pete ( who ? ) and new-boy Buno showing excellent promise for future games !

It was fairly end to end play and chances came and went. Several short coners for the F's came very close and crosses from both Chris and Tom went past on numerous occassions, always seeming to be just that extra yard away from whoever was in the "D".

Eventually Elite managed to squeeze in a goal. Half time pasted with a fairly positive Chappie talk and a confident F Team ready to come storming back.

We certainly took the game to Elite and had more chances and close misses but then Elite took a second goal and it was 2 - 0.

Some 20 minutes to go and the F's decided it was do or die time and we surged forward with finally a move starting in our half, through to Chrsi, then Ali and onto Buno who took the ball into the top of the "D" and shot, to score an excellent goal on his debut game. So 2- 1 and it was and a nervous last 10 minutes for Elite who were on the back foot.  More and more attacks down the right side and a few close calls yet again. Within the dying minutes a short corner saw a deflected shot from the old WMD which went skywards, onto a defenders stick and up again towards goal for Anthony to knock it down and in the goal. Celebrations, protests, referee conferences and it was deemed a no goal and a sixteen hit. Still 2 -1 and a last few attempts ended without another goal for a slightly disappaointing loss, but nonetheless a  very good game that showed great spirit and it was a close run thing. A draw would have been a fair result but that's the way it goes.
