The G'S consistently played strong defensive Hockey in the first half, pinning all the Unicorns. The Unicorns scored in a ???situation bringing the score to  1-1, a score we had to change. It was getting quite hot and humid, however that wasn't going to stop the G'S. Our fitness and practise sessions were paying off.

 

Congrats to Summer Fearnley our Team Player of the Game. Summer and our strong backs Cath and Christina L were all on a mission, quick to keep any attempts at goal out of Unicorns reach, along with the help of our fiesty Sweeper Jane Wakeman. Well done, Lisa Davies our Champion Goalie played awesomely, with some hairy moments Lisa quickly took care of, especially at the end. 

 

Going into the Second half ... the G'S Kath Sly scores her second goal, well done Kath, upsetting the Unicorns with the score now 2-1. Pracheta was was instrumental in the goals; effective passing straight in front of the goalie. All our forwards and fiesty Pracheta and Terri and too cool for school Shirly keeping very strong, alot of hit and close misses, making the second half challenging for the Unicorns.  Our Midfielders Jo F, Mary, Pamela, Ffiona and Sarah working hard, alot of strong blocking shots and great defence, 

 

the Unicorns were starting to show signs of emotional desperation.

 

With only 10 minutes to go, the Unicorns were giving it all, however it wasn't going to happen for them today. Well done G'S, overall I would like to mention EVERYONE that played gave it their best. A great hockey match, great passes from our back through to our forwards. Most importantly great planning, more talking and connecting.
