We disposed of a resurgent Recreio side that had recently beaten Shaheen and
Elite and drew with Bullets to rise to 4th in the league.



We saw the full value of having a team of 16 interchangeable parts that
fulfil their primary roles and duties.  There was no drama - it was clinical
how we "managed" the second half, where Cyrus in goal was untroubled.  



I always say that the clean sheet is more important than anything else and
we got that against decent, well-organised opposition.  Our recent defeat
against Elite showed how much more difficult it is to play our own game when
we concede first. Defensive highlights were Randall Arthur's two
coolly-executed, game-saving stops and a couple of saves from Cyrus Law in
the first half.



After we saw in the first half Paul McGuire's screamer of a shot excellently
saved by the Recreio goalie, who quickly smothered the follow-up shots off
the rebound, we knew we needed something special to beat him.  Q's excellent
opener (assist - Lloydy) for his first goal of the season again demonstrated
that we do have so many different ways in which we can hurt teams.  Brett
Goebel did what he did best when he smashed in our late second from a
cleverly worked "quick" short corner routine devised by Andy Dale and Q
Burrows, who had discussed in recent weeks how we can capitalise as soon as
the four defenders cross that white backline.
