The grudge match, as it was billed, lived up to its name in every sense. The Goddesses played their game of the year by playing a very disciplined team game. With only 11 players, there was a lot of nervous anticipation as to how this would turn out on the pitch having been spoiled for subs all season long. As it turned out, the player of the match went to everyone from the forwards to the GK and everyone in between. It was a true team game with everyone pulling their weight in order not to let the Fs get the better of us. 

 

The frustration from the opposition was palpable. The lengthy and focussed build-up to the game worked well and didn't back fire on us as can be the case with over-analyzing at times. With so much riding on this game, the Goddesses kept their composure and pulled a 'victory' although the final score doesn't quite reflect this. Definitely a glimpse of what the team will be accomplishing next season.
