Match report - HKFC H's 1 - 1 Dragons B - 2 May 2010
The match turned out to be a contest between the two goalkeepers. The score
line didn't reflect the opportunities that both teams were denied on or
around the goal line. From the short corners, both teams had a hatful -
neither managing to find a way to capitalise.
We were fortunate to have had Guy with us during the first half. He
delivered the ball to Tim who brilliantly slotted our only goal just a few
minutes or so before the end of the half.
Chris was denied, what would have been 'goal of the season', collecting a
perfect pass from Q and then drilling the ball towards the roof of the net -
a quite brilliant instinct save by the Dragon's goalkeeper who had a
'blinder' of a match.
At the other end of the pitch we were fortunate to have had Cyrus in goal -
he gets my vote for man-of-the-match - without his 'season-best' performance
today we'd surely have lost by a significant margin.
Nev, fresh from getting the last of the glass removed from his arse, replete
with some mysterious source of energy, was constantly revving up the left -
I wondered why. Which got me thinking.
There was a young man called Nev,
Who'd had a late night on the bev.
Amongst all the glass
They found up his arse,
Was an engine on its last rev.
Chappie did a sterling job from the bench. Finding it easy, for his first
time this season, to shuffle substitutions from a team with the perfect
blend of experience and athleticism, only to get an earful from Q who, to be
fair, was not wearing his glasses nor had his hearing aid connected.
Well-done lads. I look forward to sharing the silverware with you all.
Lloydy
