Womens b 7 - 1 KCC B

 It's a rare but welcome feeling to walk off a hockey pitch at the end of a match with the number 7 up in lights above your team's name....particularly when the number up in lights above the opposition team's name is a 1!

 

It's been a season of highs and lows so far for the ladies B team, but last Saturday's match against KCC B was defiantly a high.  It seems, after a difficult start to the season full of injury and people leaving the squad for various reasons, the ladies B team is back on track. 

 

Fran Reid and Chandra Grieves have joined the squad from the ladies C team.  Chandy was only available to play for the first half of the match against KCC B, but left us with 2 great goals, and I am sure it would have been a hat-trick if she had played on!  Fran is a great asset in defence, and along with the help of Caron Hughes and Kate Mac (both back after some time off), things are looking good from a defensive position....Caron even scored a goal against KCC B!  In the middle and up-front, I think the score line speaks for itself, but woman of the match has to go to Laura Trythall who played a superb match, scoring herself and helping to set up many of the other goals. 

 

Most importantly however, the team played as a unit supporting each other from start to finish, and it was a great fun match to be part of.  Now there's just the small matter of the ladies A team to overcome next Saturday!
