Player Profile – Mandy Vullinghs
HKFC Hockey Team: Ladies’ B Team Babes
Position: Right Defence
How long have you been playing, and where did you start: 28 years, since I was six years old, in Holland at Hockeyclub Klein Zwitserland, The Hague.
What’s been your HKFC hockey highlight: The Easter Sixes Tournaments – both the social and playing (mostly the social!)
What’s been your overall hockey career highlight: Making it into the “Zuid-Holland (NL district team) Youth Team” and then getting injured in my first club game… resulting in me being dropped from the district team within 1 week, as couldn’t play for 6 months.
Favourite thing about playing for HKFC: The whole team commitment and comradery both on and off the pitch.
Tell us something about yourself you don’t think other people would know: I have an extra mini toe on my right foot (which is why I have to play on the right-hand side of the pitch).
