Hong Kong’s Premier Sports Club Seeks Elite Male Players for 2015/2016 Season

Hong Kong Football Club (HKFC), Hong Kong’s premier private sports club, is looking for 2-3 top-level fit and enthusiastic players to join them for the 2015/2016 hockey season (September-March). These individuals will play with the elite-level Men’s A team as it seeks to win the highly competitive Hong Kong Premier Division, whilst also taking on a significant role assisting the Head of Hockey in coaching and other hockey-related activities at the Club, particularly with the juniors but also with select senior teams. Attractive packages are on offer for the right candidates.

Hong Kong Football Club is one of Hong Kong’s oldest and most accomplished sports clubs, located within the grounds of the famous Happy Valley Race Course and surrounded by mountains and skyscrapers. It offers a great range of facilities including an international standard water-based hockey pitch, football/rugby field, indoor sports hall, ten-pin bowling, swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, a fitness center, and many restaurants and bars. Membership is much sought-after.

The Men’s A team comprises mostly expatriates working in Hong Kong, including former international and national/premier league players, as well as a number of younger Hong Kong locals currently in the national side. The team is coached by Koen Pijpers, a former Dutch international who has coached and developed a host of Holland’s top players during his time at Amsterdam Hockey Club, as well as assisting with the women’s national team at the 1998 World Cup and 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.

The Hong Kong Premier Division is highly competitive and has strengthened significantly in recent years with a number of teams importing professional and semi-professional overseas players from countries such as India, Pakistan, Malaysia and Australia. This has led to a fantastic standard of competitive hockey in Hong Kong, with the top teams playing fast, high-quality hockey worthy of any premier league.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic elite-level player wishing to experience high-standard hockey whilst living in the amazing city of Hong Kong.

For more information or any interested parties, please e-mail men@hkfchockey.com with a hockey CV detailing playing and coaching experience as well as any video footage, if available.

We look forward to hearing from you.
